All other states have ruled out banning gas, apart from Victoria and the ACT.
Do we want a transition to cleaner, greener energy? Of course we do. But we need the infrastructure in place, and of course enough supply of renewables, to be able to do that successfully…..and we’re not even close.
We should have the right to choose gas as one of our energy sources – and RENEWABLE GAS is already in trial phases around Australia. That’s right ~ CLEANER GAS. The other states give their residents the option – and the other states are the ones getting Federal support for gas infrastructure. Victoria misses out again.
The Master Plumbers’ campaign “Your Home, Your Choice” perfectly summarises the situation. It IS your home and it SHOULD be your choice.
Make sure you understand the REAL cost of going all electric. And it’s not just about dollars and cents (which can be substantial) – if we don’t have enough electricity supply to service our homes, guess who won’t be able to run their heaters, air conditioners and cook tops?
We urge all gas appliance manufacturers, retail sales outlets and home owners to get behind this campaign and sign the petition by scanning the QR Code on the e-brochure below.
Gas needs to remain as an option.
We deserve the right to choose – just like the rest of Australia.
